Condolences to the Family

May 27, 2022

It’s now been 10 years since Ted’s passing and I really miss him.  I considered Ted to be one of my closest friends. We played on sports teams at Edward Hand and McCaskey and spent six years commuting from Lancaster to Harrisburg while we both worked at PA DCA.  One of my fondest memories is traveling to Boston with Jim Lombardo to watch Ted run in his first Boston Marathon.  He didn’t know we were coming, we surprised him along the route and he cried when he got into the car during our commute to Harrisburg.
One of the truly great human beings…Ted Robinson.

I am very sadden by Theo’s sudden passing. He left behind a significant impression in the lives of many. I am very grateful for the advice that I received from Theo. He will be missed, especially by me.

I am really going to miss our lunches at Las Costena. Even though we wish you were here, I know you are in a better place. Rest in peace my friend.

Rodney Horton

My deepest sympathies.  Ted and I worked together for many years first at the City then at the state and we also commuted together to Harrisburg.  We grew to be great friends and I will miss him.  We had a lot of fond memories and both shared growing up in the 7th ward of which we talked a lot.  I will always cherish my friendship with him and I pray for all his family.

Jim Lombardo

I knew him as Ted, although I know people who called him Theo. I worked with Ted at DCA and later DCED for many years. He was a wonderful, kind man. We tag teamed at many meetings together. One of my favorite memories is when we met in Towanda at the (then) Williamston Inn for lunch prior to our meeting. They made a wonderful pumpkin bread. It was a fall day and when we walked in, the whole place smelled of pumpkin bread. Ted had to buy some to take home. When he went to put it in his car, I laughed, because he had already stopped at a few places and had a bunch of pies and jams in his car. He talked about that pumpkin bread everytime we met. I last saw him at a planning conference in Lancaster a few years ago and it was good to get a hug from my buddy Ted. He will be missed.

To Lynn Robinson and Family

The Whalen Family

We were only neighbors across King Street, but we felt we had known him forever. His presence on the block and his little black VW parked nearby gave one a sense of peace that everything was OK on E. King Street. He will be missed in ways too numerous to count, but his homegoing made Heaven a little bit more special than it was before. We look forward to that time when we will see him again. Our love to you dear Ted.

My thoughts and prayers are with you on the lost of your dear Ted. He was a close colleague when we both worked in State government in the mid 70s.

My condolences to all of Theo’s family and friends.  Theo and I have been great friends over the past several years.  I worked with him as he was our Consultant for our Planning Commission and for overall Borough business.  We worked closely on our Borough’s Comprehensive Plan and Revitalization Plan.  Theo gave so much of himself in helping out our Borough of South Coatesville.  He always went above and beyond in helping us and made a difference for our community.  He will be sadly missed.

Councilwoman Terry Bruno, Borough of South Coatesville.

Dear Theresa and Family,

My heartfelt sympathy and prayers to you as you cope with this terrible loss. He was truly a gifted artist and community advocate.

Your Friend,

I knew Ted from my days with DCA, where he also worked. Although we only knew each other from chatting in the hall, he was a kind, intelligent, thoughtful person whom I admired as a colleague. I am sorry to hear of his passing – it is a loss to all of us as he made the world a better place to live.

Greg Gove

I was very saddened to hear about the passing of Theo, better known to me as "Ted." We’ve been friends and colleagues for many years and I will truly miss him. I feel blessed to have known him as he had a great sense of humor and was a very talented and caring person. In the planning world, he always had good advice to offer communities in an effort to make them a better place to live, work, and play. I know he’ll be watching over all of us from above with his very special smile.

May God be with the family as they deal with this difficult time. You’re in my thoughts and prayers.
Keep Smiling Friend….

Pam Shellenberger

Dear Cousins, we must make sure that Teddy’s light and love continues to grace this earth through us. I will miss talking to him and reading his inspirational messages each Thanksgiving, but I am comforted knowing he is just a thought away. May God and our ancestors be pleased with him. Ashe, Theo, Ashe!

Want to send prayers as I learn of Teddy’s passing. I knew Ted in high school, and we were good friends. I live in Eugene, Oregon, now, and last saw Ted about ten years ago. I know his life has been productive and he touched many lives positively. I will miss him. Thinking of Ted’s family and want to send prayers and blessings as you prepare to send him home.

Sorry for you loss, God bless …,

Alex Cruz

Very saddened to hear of Theo’s untimely passing.  He was (and is) one of the kindest persons you will ever meet, never had an unkind word to say about anyone, an excellent public servant who helped all.  His kindness and professionalism were only exceeded by his integrity as a man.  It was only recently that we also discovered Theo’s other exceptional talent in his artwork. If the world had more like him, we’d be a much better place.  Proud to be able to call Theo a friend.

I got to know your Theo when we were both working for the boroughs association in Harrisburg.  He was a wonderful man and we had a good time in each other’s company, talking politics, art and literature.  We often went out for lunch together or for a lunchtime walk around Italian Lake.  I can’t be there with you for the services, but I will be thinking of you.  The little painted rock that Theo gave me will always be treasured, as will the miniature VW Beetle he gave me in honor of my blue beetle, and his black one.

Teds dream was to have a showing of his art and to sell some pieces. That dream was realized last May.It was a wonderful show.
