Suzanne “Sue” Patton Skala, 90

Suzanne “Sue” Patton Skala, age 90, of Brethren Village, passed away on June 19, 2025. Born in Columbia, PA. in 1935, but raised and lived in Elizabethtown until marriage in 1955 to the late Emil W. Skala from N.Y. City. She was the daughter of the late Mahlon and Lillian B. Patton. Due to her husband’s work, they made eight moves in seven years, finally moving back to Lancaster County. Sue was a realtor for 20 years and then an Amish tour guide, retiring in 2018.
Sue is survived by sister Louise Daub (Miles), daughters Lisa Wright (Greg), Leslie Steiner, son Michael Skala, 3 grandchildren (Andrew and Matthew Wright, Anastasia Skala), niece Rebecca DeWees (Dave) and their children (David John and Rachel).
In addition to her husband, Sue is preceded in death by her dear companion Jere Stabley.
No visitation and the funeral will be private. Burial will be at the discretion of the family.

I found out a couple days ago a very special long time friend passed away . My heart hurt as this beautiful soul had gone on before us . I worked
For Mrs. Sue Scala and her husband years ago in Lancaster , PA . We have been friends for 21 years . We exchanged Christmas cards , talked on the phone . Every year I hang the Christmas wreath she made me . I use the trivet
Amil (Mr. Scala )made me years ago with wine corks every night at dinner . Some people are just so precious you keep them in your life .
There were three couples older couples that felt like family in Lancaster , PA that have remained a part of my life for years and still are and they were one of them . Mrs. Scala you will be dearly and forever missed !
