Susan M. Brown, 71
Susan M. Brown, 71, of Lancaster, PA. passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at her residence.
She was the wife of Gerald L. Brown Sr., with whom she would have celebrated 53 years of marriage this coming May 14th. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late James and Dorothy Hertzog McCloskey.
Susan had worked for CVS as a customer service representative in the Lancaster area for 40 years until her retirement. Following this, she had worked part-time for Hess Catering for 12 years.
She enjoyed reading, crosswords puzzles, and trips to Hollywood Casino. She will be remembered as a loving and caring person, who enjoyed Christmas and backyard barbeques with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Gerald L. Brown Jr. of Lancaster, her daughter Carol A. married to Robert Holmes of Ephrata; her 6 grandchildren Shannon Berney, Gerald Brown III, Amber and Ashley Shiffler, Laura Brown, and Mason Andes; and her 9 great grandchildren: Faith, Maria, Honesty, Arianna, Charity, Serenity, Alijah Gerald IV, Allena and one more on the way. She is also survived by her sisters: Doris married to the late Harold Miller, Cathy Gaenzle, and Mary married to Joe Bociotti and by her brother, Jim married to Dee McCloskey.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 from 7-9PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA, and again on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 10-11AM, with the Funeral Service to follow at 11AM. Interment in Riverview Burial Park.
