Susan Annette Fleeman, 56

May 22, 2017

Susan Annette Fleeman, 56, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday May 22, 2017 at Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy. She was born in Clifton Forge, VA to the late Robert “Bob” Freeman and Sandra Anne (Hetrick) Walkup. She was a loving wife to her husband Rick A. Fleeman with whom she enjoyed 37 years of marriage.

A 1979 graduate of Greenbrier West High School in Charmco, WV, she was a great homemaker for her family. She was well loved by all she came in contact with and her children’s friends often thought of her as a second mom. Annette loved spending time with her granddaughter Rylie and sharing her love of gardening with her.

She was an avid flower gardener and enjoyed spending countless hours in her flowerbeds. She loved to bird watch from her patio and enjoyed seeing what birds would visit her feeder’s daily. Annette loved her many dogs and enjoyed Zumba classes with her girlfriends. In her younger years, she was an aerobics instructor at Eileen’s Fitness Center in Lititz.

In addition to her husband Rick, Annette is survived by three children, Bradley S. Fleeman, husband of Dana M. Trabucco and their daughter Rylie M. Fleeman, Michael R. Fleeman and Autumn B. Fleeman, all of Lancaster; and five siblings, Scott Winfrey, husband of Kim and Bobby Winfrey both of Rupert, WV, Joshua Walkup of Charleston, WV, and Michelle Bennett and Melissa Reeder, both of Rupert, WV. Her young son Chad A. Fleeman preceded Annette in death in 1984.

A Celebration of Annette’s Life will take place 3 PM Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 1 to 3 PM on Friday. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PAWS of PA, www.pawsofpa.org or to Pet Pantry of Lancaster County, petpantrylc.org.

In remembrance of Annette and because of her love for spring, in lieu of wearing black, please come dressed in your favorite color or floral pattern attire.

I met Annette at Zumba, but turns out we also live in the same neighborhood! I was always a little extra motivated to get to Zumba class because I knew that Annette would be there, and she would certainly ask me where I was if I missed (I couldn’t bear to tell her I wasn’t there because I chose to spend my night on the sofa!) I am always thankful for her extra motivation, and as I continue to Zumba, she will continue to stand next to me. She was always so kind and genuine, and clearly loved her family and dogs so fiercely. <3  She saved magazines for my son and would drop them off at my house. She would always tell me that she could tell from the times she’d see myself and my son outside, that she could tell that I was succeeding as a parent. In those difficult toddler years, that always meant the world to me. Lastly, I know she would be so proud of how amazing her flower beds look right now. They are certainly up to her standards, and I know she is enjoing her view of them. Paying her kindness forward to the Pet Pantry in her honor.  My condolances. -Kristin Savko

Dear Autumn and Family,
We were heartbroken to hear of the passing of your wonderful and lovely mother Annette.  Although we did not get to meet her, we feel we’ve gotten to know her through the great pleasure of getting to know you.  Brock has often told us how fond he was of your Mom and how she was always so kind to him.  We appreciate that so much.  You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
Love,
Darrel and Cheryl Krumanocker.

Dear Ricky & Family,
Annette will always be remembered to me as a true lady, and no kinder person could ever be found. I loved her and I am sure she will leave a hole in many a heart where her love resided. I know she is rejoicing in heaven by your Mother’s side. I send hugs to you, and I am so sorry for your loss. She will not be forgotten, with her kind spirit, and beautiful smile.
Love, Your cousin Sandy Tripp (bernstiel)

My Remerberance of a “true” Lady, Friend and Neighbor, who never had a mean thing to say about any one, with a smile that would make me feel her love.  In her last days and weeks in our company she never wavered in that kind carining nature that made everyone love her even if it was the first day you met her.  Her first words was how are you doing and it was not just a reply because I may have asked first, it was sincere. All the wonderful comments before this one are deeply routed in my heart as well.  This is just one of those people that pass thru your life, and you are so enriched because she did and I will never forget
Note to the family, you had one of the best role models that any family would be soooo proud of to have had and I know her nuturing will continue in it’s own way from Heaven.  Sincere love to you all. Pat & John

I met Annette and Angie 7 years ago at our first Zumba class at Bucher Elementary.  We were all nervous since this was our first time at Zumba. She was always in the front row to the left next to Angie. We all had arms flailing, turning in wrong directions, and just laughing hysterically since we couldn’t get it, but we had fun, and we kept coming back for more! Annette always had that smile that was infectious and it made it not take yourself too seriously.  Annette, you take that smile and those Zumba moves and teach everyone that it is okay to turn the wrong direction but laugh and have fun!
Miss you…
Brigitte Hinds (zumba friend forever)

Our hearts are broken in West Virginia. Though we didn’t get to see each other often, we sure did love Annette.  She was one of the sweetest people there ever was.  Please know we mourn with you and pray for peace and strength as life goes on.  She took a little piece of everyone’s heart with her but her sweet smile and beautiful soul will live in our memories forever….

Rick, Autumn, Michael, Bradley, Dana and Riley –
The precious memory of sweet Annette will always be in my heart.  She was always a gentle soul with a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone, but during this last year she was the fiercest fighter I’ve ever seen.  While fighting her fierce battle, she not once waivered in her grace, dignity, fortitude, kindness and love.  When I would visit, she was the one often times lifting my spirits.
I will always treasure her smile and friendship over the last 20 years.  She was the first person to welcome me to our neighborhood.  I’m honored to call her a best friend and will always be inspired by her generosity, love and kindness.  In the future I know that when I’m in a difficult or sad situation, Annette will be there guiding me to the right decision.
The world is a sadder place, but heaven has one more beautiful, loving angel.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Lynn
