Sonja L. Hughes, 84, of Lancaster, PA passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 unexpectedly at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, PA she was the daughter of the late Theda and Darrell Kenneth Hughes.

Sonja was a caring person. She loved to take care of anyone or anything in need. She was generous with her home, her time and her love. She enjoyed playing horseshoes, listening to country music and watching game shows. She and her sister enjoyed their yearly visits to Atlantic City. Most of all she cherished spending time with her family.

Sonja is survived by Christina Hernandez; her siblings: Darlene Blizzard, Darrell Steven Hughes and Kenneth Hughes, many nieces and nephews; 5 grandsons and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Theda Hackert, Wanda Rosser, Sharon Peters and Darwin Hughes.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Monday, April 10, 2023 at The Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home and Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584. Family and friends will be received from 10AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at Conestoga Memorial Park.
