Shaun David Jones, 47

Shaun David Jones, age 47, passed away peacefully, losing a long-term battle with depression and addiction, on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Hospice & Community Care in Mt. Joy.
Shaun was born on February 4, 1971 in Lancaster, PA to Bonnie and Johnnie Jones. He graduated from Hempfield High School in 1989 and worked as a machine operator for International Union of Operating Engineers.
Though Shaun could be loud, stubborn, and impatient, he enjoyed being with friends and family. Despite his flaws, he was always quick to apologize and to forgive others.
Shaun had a passion for music and had a fondness for Rock and Roll. He was drawn toward bands such as Metallica, Black Sabbath, and Van Halen. Shaun casually played guitar – he loved his Les Paul – and comically sang everything.
Aside from music, Shaun enjoyed watching NASCAR and was an avid Oakland Raiders fan. He enjoyed being around other people and especially loved gatherings and places that revolved around food. Shaun impacted many lives, and continues to do so in his passing.
Shaun is survived by his parents, Bonnie (Gainer) and Johnnie Jones, his daughter, Shauna Jones and his sisters, Monica Jones and Margie Lucas.
In Shaun’s remembrance, a Memorial Service has been scheduled for 7PM on Friday, November 2, 2018 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Family and friends will be received from 5:30PM-7PM at the funeral home on Friday. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Shaun’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Shaun’s memory to Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.

Bonnie and family: How ironic and sad that we ran into you at the hospital while I was a patient in the same ICU that your son was in. So sad for your loss. I am so very sorry to hear about your loss and no words can be said to help heal your pain but I just want you to know that even though I haven’t seen all of you for a long time, you are all in my prayers and I’m here if any of you need anything.
