Sharon M. DeVerter, 66

Sharon M. DeVerter, 66, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2011 in Columbia, PA.

She was the wife of the late Vincent G. DeVerter, who passed away in 2009. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Thomas E. Goswick and the  Lester and Caroline Caldwell Weaver.

Sharon had worked as a packager and supervisor for Sechan Electronics in Lititz, for 23 years, until her retirement in 2009.

She was a member of St. Andrews United Church of Christ.

Sharon enjoyed bowling, bingo and playing the slot machines at the casinos.

She is survived by her children: Julie M. DeVerter married to Junior Cruz of Columbia, Timothy S. Fritsch of Lancaster, Vincent G. Deverter,  Jr married to Susan DeVerter Kling of Myerstown, Sherry L. Fritsch of Lititz, and Sheila K. Fritsch of Columbia.  She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandsons, and her 3 sisters: June married to Gary Hamaker of Lancaster, Linda married to Jerry Burgess of Peach Bottom and Phyllis Henry of Pequea.

Friends will be received on Monday, February 13, 2012 from 10-11AM at the Charles F. Snyder Jr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA, with the Memorial Service to follow at 11AM. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Sharon’s memory to St. Andrew’s UCC, 701 N. Sharon and Vincent was both very good friends of me and my husband Sam. We lived next door to them in pheasant Ridge, always a hello and a nice word. Sharon always had that nice smile on her face, very good people they both will be very much missed.

I AM SO SORRY FOR THE LOSS OF YOUR MOTHER. SHE GAVE A GOOD FIGHT AFTER YOUR DAD PASSED AWAY. BUT WE ALL KNOW WHERE SHE REALLY WANTED TO BE.SHE WAS A TROOPER AND ALMOST ALWAYS IN GOOD SPIRITS NO MATTER HOW MUCH PAIN SHE HAD. SHE LOVED YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH! I’ve known Sharon a short time… But the impact she left on me will last a lifetime. She was the kind of person that when your having a bad day she would just make you smile! I will miss all the laughs with her!!! I will always keep all the memories close to my heart and NEVER forget them!!! Sharon I know your watching over Chase and us and that your now with Vince!!!! WE LOVE YOU!!! Rest In Peace… See you again one day!!!! love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I only knew her briefly, but she always seemed to have a smile on her face every time I did see her.  I’m sorry for your loss! May all your good memories flood in and fill the sadness.  You’re in my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry for the loss of your mother.  She would join a group of friends of mine for dinner once a month.  She was a great lady and a great inspiration.  She was always laughing and smiling.  She will be greatly missed.
