Sandra “Sandy” Labezius,, 80

May 25, 2025

Sandra “Sandy” Labezius, 80, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love on May 25, 2025., surrounded by love. Born in Lancaster to the late Harry and Mary Shay Spidle, Sandy was a 1964 graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School. She went on to work at Weis Markets, where she formed lasting friendships and became a familiar, friendly face in the community.

Sandy married the love of her life, Jere Labezius, and together they shared nearly 50 inseparable years. Their bond was a beautiful example of devotion and companionship; they did everything together. One of their greatest shared joys was attending Hershey Bears hockey games. As avid fans, they rarely missed a game, and Sandy especially adored the team’s beloved mascot, Coco the Bear. This was made even more special by the good friends in section 109 of the Hershey Giant Center.
Throughout her life, Sandy had a deep love for animals. She and Jere had many cherished pets over the years, each one bringing joy and comfort to their home.

Sandy is survived by her devoted husband, Jere Labezius; her siblings, Steve Spidle, Janette Miller, and Lou Ann Spidle; and her nieces and nephews, Michael, Sara, Jessica, and Melvin “Poke” Miller. Her family remembers her as warmhearted, loyal, and deeply loving.

A service to celebrate Sandy’s life will be held on Saturday June 21, 2025, at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 2421 Willow Street Pike at 11am with a visitation to prior from 10-11am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane League of Lancaster County, honoring Sandy’s lifelong affection for animals.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
