Samuel “Sam” E. Harsh, 75

Samuel “Sam” E. Harsh, a devoted husband, loving father, pop-pop, and proud veteran, passed away at the age of 75. Sam was born in Bareville, PA, to the late Florence E. and Marvin L. Harsh. He shared almost 53 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Anna F. (Wright) Harsh.

Sam was a graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School and served with pride in the US Navy from 1966 to 1970 as a radar mechanic. Prior to retirement, Sam worked as the Lead Mechanic for J.L. Clark, demonstrating his skill and dedication in his profession.

Sam had a variety of interests and hobbies, including coin collecting and traveling to historic places. He particularly enjoyed visiting destinations such as Gettysburg, Colonial Williamsburg, New Hampshire to visit family, and Virginia Beach. Sam also had a passion for camping and cherished the time spent in the great outdoors.

Sam was known for his patriotism and love for his country. Above all, he cherished his family and valued every moment spent with them.

Sam is survived by his wife, Anna, and their sons, Michael (Cara) of Pottstown, PA, and Preston (Megan) of Conestoga, PA. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Aaron, Cassie, Gavin, and Marissa. Additionally, Sam is survived by his sisters, Laura Howe (Robert) of Lancaster, PA, and Dorothy Lasko of Virginia Beach, VA, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 10 siblings and his furbabies Mooch, Girl Girl, and Mitz. Sam also leaves behind his cat, Gracie, whom he adored.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Monday, April 1, 2024 to honor and celebrate Sam’s life at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Family and friends will be received from 10AM until the time of service to pay their respects. Inurnment will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Sam’s memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him, and his legacy of love, dedication, and patriotism will continue to inspire others.

My Uncle Sam. I would alway squeal and run straight into you arm when you would come home from service. I always held Those times with you as very special. I am sorry I didn’t spend more time with you. You were never far from my thoughts. I love you Uncle Sam !! Always.

Mike and Preston , I am so very sorry. Your Daddy was an amazing person.

Aunt Annie, so sorry for your loss of Uncle Sam.  He was a great man and a great person in general.  Will always remember his great sense of humor and to make people when that’s what they needed!!  I will miss him terribly🙏🙏🙏😇
