Your family is in our prayers. We loved “Miss Ruth!” Ben has fond memories of her as his nursery school teacher. Greg and I smile when we think of Ruth’s cooking and hospitality in their beautiful home that Bob designed. Thank you for your friendship over the years.
Big hugs and lots of love,

I appreciated Ruth as a contributor to our discipleship class. Her cheerful spirit and willing heart brought joy and wisdom to our discussions and relationships. Sam and I admired your partnership in marriage and enjoyed you both. May God grant you peace and comfort, Bob. We are glad you are surrounded by the warm community at Garden Spot Village. Dear Bob, I cannot be with you to celebrate Ruth’s life and home-going, though my thoughs and prayers have often been with you both. I have been remembering the abiding love you shared – I observed it often during the time we were hionored to have you singing in the choir with us – now God has blest you with fifty-eight years of memories to aiid and comfort you while you are separated. “Strength for today, and bright hope for tomorrow” is what our Father promises us in our sadness. “Great is His faithfulness, mercy and love . . . ” God’s love be with you. You and Ruth showed us extravagant love. We felt like less than somebodies (a medical student and his pregnant wife). You took us in, treated us as friends, and caared for our souls through the ministry of presence and place and beautiful meals together. Truly, you both were Jesus to us during those medical school years. You not only shared yourselves, but you shared your family. Bob, we loved how you delighted in creating beauty and using your cleverness to make wired balls of pine boughs. Your impatience tenderly planted about reflected anything but that!
I get the joy of caring for many others at our home and barn. (50 for a party last Sunday, and I feed 30 for dinner each week). I am alsoaware of loving those who feel least worthy. We have not forgotten your lessons. Thank you. Peggy Mindrebo

Ruth was my Pioneer Girls leader before she married, and Bob was the son of family friends, so their marriage was a delight to my family. I well remember sleep-overs at their first apartment at Glenside Gardens (PA), and then the delight of seeing the Ft. Washington house come together. it was essentially avant garde, and as a young teen, I was duly impressed with the design, decor, and use of color. At some point, Ruth and Bob ceased to be “older” and became peers. Ruth put up with many late nights as Bob, my husband, David, and I created what would today be called marketing materials for our local church. Through the years we’ve enjoyed so many heated discussions over good food! Ruth taught my eldest daughter, now 44, at age 4 before we left the USA for Asia in what counted as her only “real” kindergarden. It’s been a very long friendship, and Ruth will be missed.
