Dear Jeff and Lynda,
I was so saddened to read in today’s Reading Eagle of your mother’s passing. She was such a wonderful woman! I remember from the time I was an intern on Orthopaedics the delightful afternoons or evenings that I spent at your house, and the gracious warmth and hospitality she showered on me. Irene and I have such happy, happy memories of her! The best one, by far, was in January 1974. We’d gotten married in May, 1973 and had moved back to Reading in September, and I’d started with ROA October 1. We had your parents and Jobie and Bev over for dinner in our apartment at Country Culb apartments, and had had a great evening. About a week later, Jeff had come by. He came in, looked at our modern chrome and glass furniture, and exclaimed, “It’s not cold and stark like Mom said! OOPS!!” We laughed ourselves silly, because we knew how she loved early American and thought we were crazy.
I called her after your dad died, and we must have spoken for at least an hour. We reminisced about all the great years we shared. May her merit be a shield for your familiesa, and may her legacy bring your families tremendous blessings.
Please know that we will keep her memory in hour hearts, and please accept our sincere sympathy.
