Ruth E. Lange, 94

Ruth E. Lange, 94, formerly of Smoketown, PA, passed away at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community, Quarryville, PA, on Friday, June 21, 2019. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Arthur R. and Frances (Long) Uhlig. Ruth marked 63 years of marriage with her husband William A. “Bill” Lange before his death on April 6, 2010.

She graduated from Forest Hills High School, Queens, NY, in 1943 and was a great homemaker for her family. Ruth enjoyed flower gardening, was a wonderful baker, she did embroidery and she had a great sense of humor.

Ruth was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Lancaster, PA, and she enjoyed baking for the church bazaar.

Ruth is survived by two daughters, Carole A., wife of William Pacula of Garden City, NY, and June A. Lange of Strasburg, PA, as well as two grandchildren, David Pacula, husband of Kristin and Amy, wife of Paul Andrews, and her great-granddaughter Noelle Pacula. In addition to her husband Bill, Ruth was preceded in death by her sister Grace Uhlig Zimmerman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11 AM Monday July 1, 2019, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17601. A viewing will be held on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Bachman Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 7 South Decatur Str., Strasburg, PA 17579. Private interment will take place in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
