Russell A. Shaffer, 69

August 04, 2024

Russell A. Shaffer (Russ), age 69, passed away on August 4, 2024.

Born in Lancaster, Russ was the son of the late Russell C. & Ruth Ann Shaffer.

He worked as a retail manager for many businesses throughout his life. His customers knew him by name and enjoyed his quick sense of humor.

Russ enjoyed all sports but was a Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Pirates fan for life. Before retirement, Russ rocked out on the drums in the band L.A. ONE for 23 years. He also enjoyed playing the game APBA with his friends.

Russ is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer Digby, and Helena Bryan, his two sons, R.J. Shaffer (Clair) and Billy Bryan (Marcia), 6 grandchildren, Madelyn, Patterson, Makenzie, Emma, Everleigh, and Nola, as well as his brother, Joseph Shaffer, Sr. (Nancy). He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Diane Walton.

Friends and family are welcome to join us at West Earl Community Park, 189 S. State St., Leola, PA 17540, on Wednesday, August 21st at 6:00 pm for a Celebration of Life service, with a light dinner immediately following.
