Rose Mary Ressel, 89

September 18, 1931 - August 22, 2021

Rose Mary Ressel, 89, entered Heaven at her Westminster Village, Dover, DE home on Sunday, August 22, 2021. She formerly lived in Camden, DE.

Born in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ira U. and Margaret (Rodgers) Groff. Rose Mary’s husband, Theodore S. Ressel, died in 1999, after they shared 48 years of marriage.

Rose Mary graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School, and she enjoyed being a wonderful homemaker for her family. She was active in the Women’s Fellowship Committee at Peoples Church of Dover. Rose also enjoyed planting flowers and tending to her garden at her home, and many activities at Westminster, including playing Bingo, painting and watching the guest entertainers.

Surviving Rose Mary are her daughter, Jean R., wife of Samuel Martin of Lewes, DE, her grandchildren, Sara Martin of Chesapeake, VA and Eric Martin of Potomac, MD, her brother Ira Groff, husband of the late Dorothy of Lancaster, PA, and her sister Patsy Geyer of Shamokin, PA. In addition to her parents and husband, Rose Mary was preceded in death by her sister Peggy Ingle.

The family thanks the Westminster Village staff for the kind compassionate care and friendship given to Rose Mary.

A visitation will take place 1:30 to 2 PM, followed by the funeral service at 2 PM, on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Spacht-Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 127 S. Broad Street, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will be in Christadelphian Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Village of Dover, Attn: Employee Hardship Fund, 191 Westminster Drive, Dover, DE 19904 or to Peoples Church of Dover, 46 S. Bradford Street, Dover, DE 19903.
