Ronald “Ron” R. Price, 81

October 17, 2025

Ronald “Ron” R. Price, 81, of Lititz, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, October 17, 2025. Born in Columbia, PA, he was the son of the late Mary (Hamaker) and Philip J. Price. He was the beloved husband of Margaret “Marg” (Siefken) Price, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.

Ron was a graduate of Millersville College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in education. Before retiring in 2000, he dedicated his career to teaching at several elementary schools in the School District of Lancaster, where he was admired for his patience, integrity, and quiet leadership.

A devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lititz, Ron served faithfully for many years and was proud to be elected to the position of Vice President of the Lower Susquehanna Synod (ELCA). His life reflected a deep and steady commitment to his faith, family, and community.

Ron enjoyed vacationing in Stone Harbor, NJ, cheering on his beloved Phillies, and spending time reading and relaxing with his family. Those who knew him best will remember his quiet confidence, punctual nature, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Marg; his son, Pastor Philip J. Price, husband of Kathy, of Salina, Kansas; his daughter, Alice Spencer, wife of Len, of Manheim; and three grandchildren, Eric Price, and Bradley and Rebecca Steiert. He is also survived by his sister, Katie Smith. He was preceded in death by his sisters Phyllis Zink, MaryLou Holland, Linda Weber and Sharon Jones.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4PM on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 200 W. Orange Street, Lititz, PA 17543. Family and friends will be received from 3PM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran World Relief, www.lwr.org.

Ron was raised on Lawrence St. In Columbia. As a kid I spent my most enjoyable days of summer playing pick up baseball games with Ron “Pete” Price at the Black Sox and Janson fields. Ron was a great competitor and a great educator. God Bless you Ron and RIP. Jim Smith class of “62” CHS

I met Ron at the Wellness Center – Luther Acres. When he exercised, he went at it 110%. When I saw his “Millersville State College” shirt, we had something in common, we were both past teachers. He always had a friendly welcome when I entered the gym. The last thing he said to me while he was leaving the gym was “have a good one”. For the last many weeks I asked if anyone knew where Ron was. Unfortunately, now I know. I will miss his pleasant and friendly demeaner. Sympany for the family. He was a good guy. Bob Lausch

My condolences to the Price family. I worked with Ron when I first started teaching in The School District of Lancaster. Your husband/father was truly a wonderful example for the students he taught! He was always helpful and kind. You were so very fortunate to have had a husband/father like him! My thoughts and prayers are with you.Beth A. Hough

Dear Marge and Family,
I had the pleasure of working with Ron at Burrowes Elementary for six years.  During that time we became close friends and enjoyed chatting about the Phillies.  Ron was an outstanding teacher, mentor to his students, and beloved member of the staff. His contribution to education will serve his students during their lifetime.  With sympathy,   Dave and Rochelle Rentschler
