Romayne K. Kirchner

Romayne K. Kirchner, 102, formerly of 650 W. Vine St., Lancaster, passed away on Thursday at the Hamilton Arms Nursing Center.

She was the wife of the late James E. Kirchner, who passed away in 1947. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late August and Rose Markert Krimmel.

Romayne had worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for the Clark Mortgage Co. for 10 years, until retiring in 1971. She had also been the secretary to former Lancaster city Mayor Monahan.

Romayne was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, the Legion of Mary, and was an actress with the St. Joseph Players.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Ann Kirchner who passed away in 1989. She is survived by 14 nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph St., Lancaster, PA 17603 on Tuesday at 10AM with the Rev. Joseph Hilbert as Celebrant. Interment in St Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
