Roberta Dawn Maurer Reilly, 78

February 27, 2014

Roberta Dawn Maurer Reilly, 78, of Lititz, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27th, at her home surrounded by her loving family, friends, and faithful dog, Komo. She had been married to the late Eugene M. Reilly for over 40 years prior to his death in 2001. Together, Roberta and Eugene raised 5 children and fostered 11. They lived for over 30 years in “The Seldomridge House” on S. Broad St. in Lititz before moving to Pebble Creek.
Over the years, Roberta worked as a Bell telephone operator in NYC, was a dental assistant in Lancaster, had an in-home dog-grooming business in Lititz, and worked for 26 years as a nursing assistant at Moravian Manor. Her hobbies included cooking & gardening, reading, watching the Phillies, and traveling to Williamsburg VA and Ireland. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and shopping at Walmart and Stauffer’s. One of her special joys was feeding the birds in her backyard and watching them from her windows.
Roberta is survived by her children: Judith (Edward) Zdancewicz, Michael Reilly, Matthew Reilly, Bryna (Kevin) Kontra, all of Lititz, and Megan Reilly of Waldorf, MD. She was called “Omi” by her grandchildren: Jeremy (Ramonita) O’Maille, Joshua (Christina) Diffenderfer, Kelly Wright, Cara (James) Flynn, Nicole Reilly, Eric Reilly, Sean Reilly, Hillary Kontra, Kevin Kontra, and Hannah Kontra. She is also survived by great-grandchildren: Monaq, Brendan, Rylee, Jackson, Joseph, Jonathan, Siera, Alannah, and Brady. She was preceded in death by grandchildren Michael Wright and Holly Kontra, and by great-grandchild, Hope Diffenderfer.
In addition, she is survived by her sister, Kate Leque of Columbia, PA, a brother, William H. Mattern, and her good friends and shopping & traveling buddies, Pam and Darlene.
Services are private at Roberta’s request, with interment at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. If you wish to remember our Omi, please make a donation to the charity of your choice –and please remember to feed the birds
