Robert W. Beahm, 87, of Luther Acres, Lititz, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Silverdale, PA he was the son of the late William Beahm and Evelyn (Gehman) Schanely. He was the loving husband to the late Loretta A. Beahm who passed away in 2016.
He was a graduate of East Greenville High School.
Robert worked as a plant foreman for Red Hill Grinding Wheel Corporation for over 40 years. He was involved in local civic affairs and was well known in the community.
He loved jazz music, driving in the countryside, was an avid nature lover especially going to Hawk Mountain Sanctuary and Middle Creek to see the snow geese. He also had an affinity for owls and enjoyed playing pinochle and helped to volunteer at Luther Acres.
Robert is survived by his three daughters, Kristin Grant wife of Ken of Newark, DE, Carol Abbatiello wife of Salvatore of Glastonbury, CT, and Michelle Beahm wife of Bruce Greer of Harrisburg, PA. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Nicholas, Rachel, Alexander, Gina, one great-grandchild and his companion, Elaine Ream.
In keeping with Robert’s wishes there will be no formal services. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Robert’s memory to the Caring Fund at Luther Acres, 600 E. Main St, Lititz, PA 17543 or Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, 1700 Hawk Mountain Rd, Kempton, PA 19529.
