Robert S. Mortensen, 61

Robert S. Mortensen, 61, a proud Navy veteran and devoted family man, passed away on February 11, 2025. Born to the late Arthur and Joan Mortensen, Robert dedicated his life to service, integrity, and hard work.
In 1981, Robert enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served with distinction for 20 years, retiring at the rank of Chief Machinist’s Mate. Throughout his career, he was honored with several medals in recognition of his dedication and excellence. This included the he got the Navy achievement medal twice, and the Navy Marine corps commendation award. He also earned both the Realm of the Arctic Circle and the Imperium Neptuni for crossing the Arctic Circle and the equator—testaments to his adventurous spirit and steadfast service.
Robert was a man of great strength and resilience, known for being as tough as nails yet deeply caring and generous. His work ethic was unmatched, and he approached life with determination and grit. A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, he never missed a chance to cheer for his team.
Robert is survived by his beloved daughters, Amy Martin, wife of Chris, and Robin Mortensen. He also leaves behind his siblings, Frank Mortensen, Joey Mortensen, and Cathy Mortensen, soon to be wife of Kenneth Falcone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Mortensen, and his brother, Michael Mortensen.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday the February 18 from 1pm to 3pm at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz PA . Military Honors will be rendered at the end of viewing. Robert will be laid to rest at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
Robert’s legacy of strength, service, and love for his family will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

We fought like cats and dogs all of the time but I at least know our last physical words was a hug and I love you. That was the last time I saw him was at my dads service. I know you and mom are already playing your scrabble. You were deeply loved.
