Robert R. Lafleche, 71
Robert R. Lafleche, 71, of 9 Earl Lane, Lititz, died Thursday at the Lebanon VA Medical Center.
He was the husband of Phoebe L. Klopp Lafleche, with whom he celebrated 3 years of marriage this past November 8th. He had been previously married to the late Madonna Staples Lafleche, who died in 2000. Born in Barre, Vermont, Robert was the son of the late John and Rose Lefebvre Lafleche.
Robert had been a sign lettering artist and the owner of Arrow Signs Inc. of Graniteville, VT from 1974 to 2000. Prior to owning Arrow, he had worked as a granite truck driver for Granite Center Delivery in Barre. After his retirement, he moved to Lancaster County and had worked part-time at the Manheim Auto Auction as a driver.
A US Navy veteran, Robert served as an Airman E-3 from 1955 to 1959, being stationed in places such as Hawaii, Japan, Alaska and Oklahoma. After active service, he served in the Vermont National Guard for many years.
He loved to travel, especially in the New England area, with Maine being a favorite destination. Robert was a talented artist, with a skill for drawing and sketching. He also was a big racing fan, especially NASCAR.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: David A. of Graniteville VT, Mark J. married to Suzanne of Williamstown VT, Milissa R. of Mount Pleasant SC, and Eric R. married to Robin of Spencer, MA. Robert is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and a stepson, Jason D. L’Heureux of Adamstown, PA.
