Robert M. “Bob” Keaveney, 75
November 19, 2024
Robert M. “Bob” Keaveney, 75, of Lancaster passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at LGH. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Vincent and Mary (Toner) Keaveney. He was the loving and devoted husband of Denyse (Beach) Keaveney. Together they shared over 54 years of marriage.
He was a graduate of Cardinal O’Hara High School where he was a proud member of the swimming and diving team. He often bragged about his name being on the wall of fame. Bob worked as a salesperson with Benco Dental, where he was the top performer for many years.
Bob was an avid golfer and longtime member of Meadia Heights Golf Club. He enjoyed playing with the men’s group fondly referred to as “The Geezers” and reminiscing about the missed shots and lost balls while enjoying a drink at the 19th hole.
He was a positive person who always loved a good joke. Bob was a deeply faithful person, he loved his family immensely and was very proud of his Irish heritage. He loved the Sunday afternoon BBQs shared with family and was famous for his “flash cooked” burgers (burnt on the outside, raw on the inside), but no one ever complained.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Brian Keaveney, husband of Kristin of Collegeville, PA; Paul Keaveney of Lancaster; Denyse Thrower, wife of Charlie of Lititz; and Joanne Kintzing, wife of Hunter of West Deptford, NJ. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Sean, Erin, Gillian, Hunter Grace, and Finn; two brothers, William Keaveney, husband of Eileen, Kevin Keaveney, companion of Sharon, both of Newtown Square, PA and ten nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gerard, James, and Thomas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave, Lancaster, PA. Interment will be private. Family and friends will be received from 10-11AM at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob’s memory to Catholic Charities or Tunnel to Towers.

Denyse and Family,
We are very sorry to hear about Bob’s passing. He with two others were influential in changing my (Carl) every day attitude toward life. With all of his health issues he was still always very upbeat and joyful. I had every intention of attending the funeral mass, but in my hast I did not make it in time. I was going to the wrong address. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
