Robert Louis “Bob” Latorella, 84

December 19, 2024

Robert Louis “Bob” Latorella, 84, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Lancaster General Hospital.

Born in Lynn, MA, he was the son of the late Henry and Jan (Holda) Latorella. He was the loving husband of Carole (Chase) Latorella.

Bob was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, who loved his family dearly. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He had a big personality and a fun-loving sense of humor that could light up any room. An entrepreneur at heart, he built a successful career across various ventures, always demonstrating dedication, innovation, and resilience. All this for a deep desire to provide for his family. He was a passionate New England sports fan and enjoyed cheering them on. Known for his adventurous spirit, Bob often loaded his family into the car for trips to Maine, or impromptu ice cream runs—a simple tradition that is fondly remembered. Above all, Bob cherished his family and the moments they shared. He will be remembered for his kindness, his ability to make others laugh, and the love he gave so freely to those around him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carole Latorella; their four children, Robert (Lynne) Latorella, Jr., Mark (Jill) Latorella, Beth Chapman, and Anne (John) Shaver; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Molly Pelonzi.

Services for Bob will be announced at a later date after the New Year.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.

With great sadness I learn of Bob’s  passing, and want to extend my deepest condolences to Bob’s Wife Carole,a dear friend and Mentor to me, and all her Family.  I was blessed to have had many spirited  conversations with Bob ranging from the mundane of life to the highlights of his life, which first and foremost was his Wife and their Kids and Grandchildren. Bob always looked on the brighter side of life. Knowing he had ” his people” always next to him. An amazing Man. I know this is a very tough loss for his Family, but he and Carole sure did create very strong and resilient Family that have always stood strong by each other and no doubt that they will remain that way. Blessings to all of you, during this very difficult time💜

Hi Carole, Sorry to hear about Bob. He and I had some good times together as neighbors on Silverbrook Rd. I remember you having the twins and wondering how you could cope but you did wonderfully. I bought a couple of vehicles from Bob and I built your house in Beverly. Lots of good memories. Jean died two years ago. I’m older than dirt but hanging in there. Lots of love to you and your family. Everett White
