Robert L. Johnson, 79
Robert L. Johnson, 79, of Willow Street, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at his residence.
A native of Willow Street, he was the son of the late Clinton R. Johnson, Jr. and Mary (Childs) Johnson, and the husband of Delana Hoffman Johnson of Willow Street. They were married on April 28, 1955.
Bob was employed for the majority of his life as a welder for High Steel Structures and other companies in the Lancaster area.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed as his hobby selling antiques.
He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War.
In addition to his wife of 56 years, he is survived by a daughter, Delana C.A. Johnson of East Petersburg; two sons: Robert “Lee” Johnson, Jr. and his wife Rita S. of Mt. Airy, MD, and Shawn R. Johnson of Holtwood; a grandson, Trey M. Johnson; a sister, Doris Kirch and her husband William of Lancaster; and a brother, Edward Johnson of Columbia. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Jane Weaver and Peg Sears; and a brother, Clinton R. Johnson, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 AM on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph St., Lancaster, PA 17603 with Msgr. Thomas H. Smith as Celebrant. Interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park with full military honors provided by the Red Rose Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 9 to 10 AM at the church.

I am very sorry to hear about your Dad. I worked with him at Coachlite and will always remember his free, fun loving spirit. He is now entertaining everyone in heaven with his infectious laughter.

I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Pop. I pray that he did not suffer very long. He is certainly in a better place now. He was a wonderful, kind man and I know you will find peace and laughter in the memories you have of him. He had a good heart.
