Bob and I formed an immediate friendship starting with SCPD in 1960; and his wise and even-handed disposition won him, and the PD, many friends and much respect.

Sorry to hear of you bad news.   He did a good job of raising the Sommer brothers.  That’s all we could ask out of a father.

August 14, 2018

Deepest condolence to all the extended Sommer family.  Always respected his intellect and professional accomplishments as well as his committment to family.  You could always have an interesting conversation with Mr. Sommer whether it be politics, religion or just a re-telling of some key rival wrestling matches Bob, Dennis Murnane and I had way back in high school.  He will be missed.
