Robert C. “Clyde” Ivy, 76
Robert C. “Clyde” Ivy, 76, formerly of 3318 Cochran Dr., Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2006, at Moravian Manor in Lititz.
He was the husband of Irene Bundas Ivy, with whom he celebrated 48 years of marriage, this past February 28th. Born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, Clyde was the son of the late William and Wilma Henry Ivy.
An electrical engineer, Clyde had worked for ISC- Ferranti PLC of Lancaster, for 12 years, until his retirement in 1989. Prior to this he had worked in South Africa, Teledyne Brown Engineering in Huntsville, AL, and for General Electric in Johnson City, NY.
He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was a kicker and a tackle for Millsaps College’s football team, and graduated from Mississippi State University with a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering.
He loved to travel the world with his wife, enjoyed vacations at the beach with his family, enjoyed working in his yard, reading, and spoiling his dog, Ruff.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters: Rebecca Kilian of Lancaster, and Dr. Mary Ivy, married to Dr. Kevin Murphy of Lancaster; 3 sons: Christopher Ivy married to Virginia Bristol of Durham, NC, Bob Ivy married to Emerel Ivy of Cedar City, UT, and Jon Ivy, partner of Margaret Aldred of Ventura, CA.; and 8 grandchildren. Clyde is also survived by his brother, Charles Ivy married to Ellen Ivy of Lexington,VA, and his sister Joanne Willis of Sewanee, TN.
