Robert “Bob” N. Lamb, 81

Robert N. Lamb, a.k.a. “Lambo”, age 81 of Rothsville passed away at LGH on July 18, 2025. He was born on March 9,1944 in New London, CT and was a son of Nelson L. and Mae S. (Thompson) Lamb of Hadlyme, CT.
He attended Lyme Consolidated Elementary School in Lyme, CT and Nathan Hale-Ray High School in East Haddam, CT. Lamb worked at R.R. Donnelley & Sons in Old Saybrook, CT from June of 1962 until March of 1973, when he transferred to a Donnelley facility at 391 Steel Way in Lancaster and eventually worked at all three manufacturing facilities here in Lancaster. Lamb retired from Donnelley in June of 2002 as a Manufacturing Supervisor, after forty years of service to the company.
He was married to Patricia E. (Newton) Lamb on August 23, 1969, in Old Saybrook, CT. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last August. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two children: Cynthia M. Magee, the wife of Michael T. Magee in Lititz and a son, Jonathan D. Lamb, husband of Melissa (Sload) Lamb of Rothsville, as well as four grandchildren: Brittany R. (Magee) Byus, Casey J. Magee, Tyler D. Lamb and Nathan J. Lamb. Robert was predeceased in death by a brother, William 8. Lamb of Dover, DE.
He enjoyed gardening, researching family genealogy and spending time at the family’s former vacation home in West Ocean City, MD as well as nearby Assateague Island.
Lamb was a volunteer for many years and in many venues: he was a Line Officer (2nd Lieutenant) with the Lyme Volunteer Fire Company in Lyme, CT, and was a Big Brother in CT. He also volunteered with the Warwick Little League, the Rothsville Ambulance Association, the Rothsville and West Earl (Brownstown) Fire Police and was the President of the West Earl Fire Company. He was an Interim Administrator for the Warwick Emergency Services Alliance (now WESC) and founder of the Warwick Township Citizen Emergency Response Team (CERT), a member of the Lancaster County Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) and was a volunteer staff member of the Lancaster County Emergency Management Agency (LEMA) in Manheim for several years.
Lamb was one of the founders of the Lancaster County Fire Police Task Force (LCFPTF). He was also the Fire Police Laison for the Lancaster County Fire Chiefs Association (LCFCA) – on a subcommittee called EAST (Emergency Agency Support Team) – where he developed and coordinated traffic control plans for funerals of fallen emergency fire responders in Lancaster County.
Lamb was also the volunteer Emergency Management Coordinator (EMC) for both Warwick Township and Lititz Borough for many years. One of his proudest accomplishments was when he became the first Volunteer Municipal Coordinator in the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to achieve the highest level of certification in that position – “Professional”.
There will be no viewing or memorial service.
Interment will be private, at the convenience of the family.
