Raymond E. Allison, 80
Raymond E. Allison, 80, of 5973 Lemon Street, East Petersburg, died at his home on Saturday, June 24, 2006.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Goldie Meister Allison of Lancaster and the late Charles B. Allison. Raymond was the husband of Shirley A. Dietrich Allison, to whom he was married for 36 years. His first wife was the late Mary Lou Price Allison.
Mr. Allison worked for Armstrong for 42 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Petersburg. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He enjoyed playing cards and watching the Eagles and Phillies on TV.
Surviving besides his wife and mother are two sons: Raymond E. Jr., husband of Carol Allison of Lancaster; Kent W. Allison of Lancaster; two daughters: LuAnn, wife of Eugene Bowman of Texas; and Amy Jo, wife of Jeffrey Brown of Florida; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers: Robert Allison of Lancaster; and Edward, husband of Donna Allison of Mountville; two sisters: Jean Yellets of East Petersburg; and Betty, wife of Bernie Heisey of Mount Joy. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Allison.
Funeral Services will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Mellinger’s Mennonite Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday night from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Please omit flowers.
