Peter Tsoflias, 65
October 21, 2025
Peter Tsoflias, 65, of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Maria (Frangeskos) Tsoflias.
Born in St. George Sykousis, Chios, Greece, Peter was the beloved son of Kalliopi (Ganginis) Tsoflias and the late Spyros Tsoflias. In 1969, at the age of nine, Peter moved to America with his parents, siblings, and grandmother.
Peter dedicated over four decades of his life to Arconic (formerly Howmet), where he was a respected and hardworking colleague. At just 18 years old, he also proudly established Pete’s Laundry, a local business that would go on to leave a lasting legacy—not only in name, but in spirit. “Pete’s Laundry” later became the name of his beloved softball team, a team he led with passion and camaraderie. Among his proudest moments was guiding the team to victory in 1997, winning both the Ocean City Modified Softball Tournament and the ASA of Pennsylvania Men’s Modified Class C State Championship.
A lifelong member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Peter was deeply rooted in his faith and community. As a young man, he found joy and brotherhood playing GOYA basketball and volleyball where he met his beloved wife. In January-February of 1980, he was honored as Athlete of the Month and nicknamed “Pistol Pete” for his talent on the court.
Peter was preceded in death by his father, Spyros Tsoflias, and his brother, John Tsoflias.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maria, and their five children: Spyro, Anthony, Presv. Kyriaka, wife of Fr. Aaron Gilbert, Emmanuel, husband of Taylor, and Luke, husband of Apollinaria. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to six grandchildren: Matthew, Maria, Panagiotis, Vasilios, Yianni, Anthimia and one more soon to arrive. He is also survived by his sister, Angela, wife of Gary Efstration, and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 1PM at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 64 Hershey Ave, Lancaster, PA 17603. The family will receive friends at the church from 12noon to 1pm prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow at Conestoga Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Peter’s memory to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.

Dear Maria, Spyro, and Kyriaka,
I am deeply sorry for your loss. Please accept my sincerest condolences. I just read about the passing of your husband, Maria, and your father, Spyro and Kyriaka. Although I did not have the chance to know Mr. Tsoflias, I can tell he must have been a remarkable man because you, Maria, are such a kind and wonderful person. Spyro and Kyriaka, you both are truly great kids who adore your parents. It’s evident that he was a great man, as the love among your family is so clear.
I hope you remember me, Yolanda. I remember all three of you, especially you, Maria, who has always been so kind. There are no words to express how this news has touched my heart.
God bless you all and your family. His grace is sufficient.

Just heard about Pete’s passing yesterday. I have many fond memories of him. I first met Pete when I was umpiring his games on the softball field. He was my favorite manager to discuss calls made during the game.
Sorry to hear of his passing. I will keep him and his family in my thoughts.
