Pauline S. Katchmer
Pauline S. Katchmer of Millersville died at the age of 93 on February 19, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Katchmer, a former football and baseball coach at Millersville State College. Pauline was a basketball star at Cornwall High School, and was voted the best female athlete in the school’s history. She enjoyed sports, bridge, and bingo. She was always a tough competitor. For many years she served as an inspector of elections in Millersville Boro. She was a member of Millersville University Campus Club. She was an intelligent woman who was devoted to her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Paula; 3 sons, George (Holly), John, and Michael (Fran Huber); and 6 grandsons, Peter, Brian, Mitchell Jewell, Douglas Jewell, Nicholas and Andrew.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Phillip the Apostle Catholic Church 2111 Millersville Pike, Lancaster 17603 with Rev. Mark E. Weiss as Celebrant. The Family will greet friends at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the Mass. Please omit flowers. Contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN. 38105. I miss you so much Pauline.. it broke my heart to leave you in that nursing home. Being your care give, you treated me with the up most respect and for that you hold a special place in my heart. I think of you everyday. I wish I was there for you when you needed me the most. Please rest to know that my thoughts are with you everyday. Love Elaine Walker
