Pauline Burns, 91

April 25, 1933 - December 12, 2024

Pauline Burns was welcomed into the gates of Heaven on December 12, 2024, she was 91. On April 25, 1933, she was born in Philadelphia to Milan and Grace Nikolich, as the youngest of their three children. She was the devoted wife of William G. Burns for over 55 years until his passing in 2011.

She and William were married on April 28, 1956. Throughout their many years together they were inseparable, treasuring the time they spent together. They moved to Long Island and welcomed their son William G. Burns Jr. Pauline worked as the secretary for the regional supervisor over 15 years at Long Island Lighting Company until her retirement. Previously working at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. In 1994 they returned to PA to live their golden years.

While in PA, they became members of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church where they were longtime members and part of their social group Guys & Dolls.

She will be sorely missed by many who knew her, especially her son, William G. Burns, Jr. of Lancaster. She was preceded in passing by her parents, husband, and siblings, Dorothy and Mitchell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave. Lancaster, PA 17601, Fr. Thomas Kappes as celebrant. Guests are invited to a viewing at the church from 10 AM until Mass. Interment to follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity in Pauline’s honor.
