Patrick “Pat” Trenkle, 65

October 22, 2025

Patrick “Pat” Trenkle, the son of the late Simon A. and Mary Catherine (Halloran) Trenkle, has not, contrary to popular belief, passed away. Rather, he has been declared missing in action. While some insist, he took his last breath on October 22nd, those who truly knew him suspect otherwise.

Reports suggest he was last seen speeding toward open water, off to “meet a guy about a boat.” The coast guard may call it a disappearance, but loved ones know Pat simply refused to let something as ordinary as mortality – or cancer – interrupt a good story.

Part mischief and part magic, or more likely one-third chocolate chip cookies, one-third Marlboro lights, and one-third Mountain Dew, Pat lived life full throttle and often at full volume, with a laugh that filled every room. He was a rare combination: a dreamer and a doer, finding success in both business and in life.

Of all his adventures, Pat was proudest of being a husband, a dad, and a PopPop. While he was a Freemason with Lodge 43 and successful in business and life, his family was his greatest joy, his favorite topic of conversation, and the truest reflection of his heart. His grandchildren knew that, if you ever needed to find him, all you would need to do was look on the porch, his chair in the living room, or in the bathroom.

Pat leaves behind a wake of laughter and a devoted crew of family, friends and staff who adored him, including his loving wife and best friend, Linda; his children, Chris (Steffan), Max, and Nikki; his grandchildren, Kiya, Avi’yana, Zaidyn Patrick, and Zakai Anthony; his siblings Kathleen (Jim) Davis, Colleen (Steve) Bartlein, Tim (Annette) Trenkle, Sarah (Jeff) Hartung, and their families; and extended family including the Village Elders (especially ‘brothers’ Mike, Kerry and Jeff) and their families and Dave and Deb Michalski and their family. Pat’s work family meant the world to him as well, especially Georgie and Suzanne.

As a man of honor and strong trust, he requested we extend a special appreciation to the Fisher family in Strasburg, the Warwick Marching Band, and his hundreds of contacts through work. Til the end, he remained humble and never viewed himself as a mentor, but he was. Pat positively influenced hundreds of people up to the day he took his last breath.

Pat stated that “after I die, I am not going anywhere, I will always be with you and just remember the number 7.”

In true Pat fashion, we’ll leave you with one last joke. “I told my wife she should embrace her mistakes… so she hugged me.”

Pat requested a party for his Celebration of Life. He did not want a funeral and did not want tears. Based on his wishes, we will pause and plan a celebration at a future date. The plans will be posted when plans are confirmed, probably closer to Pat’s favorite time of year … the start of boating season.

What a wonderful write up for Pat. 👌Not seen Pat for many years but we knew each other well from grade school thru high school. Wonderful friendly fun guy and competed with me for class clown title. Pat and I may have given some teachers some gray hairs. But in a fun way. So long Trenkle  ! See you again someday.
