Patrick A. Autrey, 63

Patrick A. Autrey, 63, passed away March 21, 2014 in Lancaster, Pa. He was the son of the late Leonard V. Autrey and Mary Jane Autrey of Manheim Township. In addition to his mother he is survived by 3 brothers, William L. Autrey husband of Carol of Reading, Pa., Michael L. Autrey husband of Ronna of Steam Boat Springs, Co., Stephen L. Autrey of Lancaster, Pa and sister Mary Lynn Autrey Smith of Lompoc, Ca. Also, Patrick is survived by 12 nieces and nephews: Michelle Donches, Tara Walker, Mark Autrey, Phillip Autrey, Amy Schultz, Erin Neren, Corina Barrera, Jason Smith, Monica Knarr, Mary Beth Allen, Maureen Giannini, Laura McDonnell; and 23 great-nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by one nephew, Shaun Autrey.

Patrick was a member of St. Anne’s Church in Lancaster; an active member of the 3rd Order Franciscans; and a graduate of Don Gianella School. In past years Patrick was active with the Lancaster Catholic High School marching band and helped with the sports program. Patrick also participated in Men of Malvern Retreats for the past 25 years.

Patrick was a member of TPA, and the Knights of Columbus.

Patrick resided at Friendship Community since 2009. He was active in the Creative Movement Club, Aktion Club, and Friendship Art Gallery where he received numerous accolades for his art work. In 2011 he received the Haverstick Award at Friendship Community for overcoming obstacles.

Patrick’s desire to serve others was evident in all that he did throughout his life doing arts and crafts for family and friends, helping at the St. Anne’s Christmas Dinners, playing Santa Claus, church cleaning, and wherever he could bring a smile!

He was an avid Notre Dame and Phillies fan. He loved music, shows and visiting with relatives near and far.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 929 N. Duke St, Lancaster, PA 17602. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 25, from 6-8 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, and Lititz, PA 17543. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Patrick’s memory to Friendship Community, 1149 E. Oregon Rd, Lititz, PA 17543, LCHS, 650 Juliette Ave, Lancaster, PA 17601 or to St. Anne’s Catholic Church at the above address.

Blessings to the family as you experience this difficult time.  Patrick was always fun-loving with a big smile.  Our family has many fond memories of him especially his stories and his servant’s heart.  He was always lookng to help people.  We will miss him but know that heaven is much brighter now because of his entrance there.  Bob Neff Jr.

I remember Pat from the old Clay Street neighborhood and St. Anne’s.  He was so pleasant and such a good helper with all church and school activities.  My deepest sympathy to all the Autrey family.

Patrick was a dear friend of mine for many years. We worked together back in the ’80’s & 90’s. He certainly kept us entertained & yes, he was always smiling & dancing.
