Patricia Landis, 88
November 30, 2020
Patricia Landis, 88, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020 at St. Anne’s Retirement Village. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late William and Sarah (Hart) Kleine, and a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School. After 62 years of marriage she was preceded in death by her husband Bill Landis.
Pat, a devout Catholic with an infectious laugh, loved her family and friends, and the game of bridge. She attained the rank of Life Master, an admirable accomplishment in the world of competitive bridge. Family was paramount and she cherished the memories of vacations that included her brothers’ and sister’s families as well. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and a volunteer for many years at Lancaster Regional Hospital.
Patricia wanted best to be remembered as a wonderful Mother – and that she was. She is survived by her three daughters: Suellen Smith (Terry), Mountville; Lisa Hannum, Schaumburg, IL; Tricia E. Landis, Lancaster; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and her brother Peter E. Kleine of Lancaster.
Pat was a lifelong supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. In her honor, the family wishes to direct any memorial donations to that charity at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are private. To send a condolence,

Dear Trish and family,
I was so sad to learn of dear Pat’s passing. It was my good fortune to meet Pat many years ago when I bought some of her three girls clothing for my three girls. My girls always looked forward to my visits with Pat as I always came home with the lovliest outfits, coats, etc for them. Years later I also was so happy to get to see her at Bridge at Maple Grove. Pat was always a kind, fun friend and a terrific Bridge player. She was such a dear friend and will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have known her.
I am sending love, prayers and many healing thoughts to you for your comfort and peace.
Love,
Bev Jordan

I did not get to know Pat until I started playing duplicate bridge. We became very good friends in just a few years. Suellen, Liza and Tricia your Mother talked about the three of you so much and it was obvious how much she loved you. I send you my deepest sympathy and hope for peace. I will miss her too. Dear Suellen and family,
Thinking of you with love and empathy. During my time working at Saint Joseph Hospital I loved seeing your mother as she faithfully volunteered her time at the hospital. I know my mother enjoyed her company and they are catching up on things as they are at peace in the arms of our Lord!
God bless you all, Chris Tearney Walsh

Landis family I am so sorry for your loss! I had the opportunity to know, work and love both of your parents. They were very special people in their own right. Your mom explained how to bury a statue of Mary so my house could be sold. Swore by it.
Pat knew my dad and brought him up in conversation-I think just to keep him alive in my life. Such a blessing.
My heart is heavy for you.

Dear Suellen, Lisa, Tricia, Pete & the rest of Pat’s family, Please accept my deepest sympathy. Pat was one of my dearest friends since we were twelve. I will miss her terribly as I have for the last three years of her life. My life juist wasn’t the same without that great friend to laugh, cry & chat with. She taught me to play Bridge when I was twent-three; at which time she was well on her way to being a fabulous Bridge player. Bless you girls for taking such good care of your dear Mother in her last years–she loved each one of you very much.
Love, Mary Anne Aichele
