Palma Biancheria “Pam” Valeri, 76
October 27, 2016
Palma Biancheria Valeri (Pam), born on December 13, 1939, in Worcester, MA, passed away on October 27, 2016, at age 76 after a long illness. A resident of Worcester until 1995, Pam spent more than twenty years in sunny Sacramento, CA, until finally relocating to Lancaster, PA, to be closer to her family.
Pam loved being surrounded by her family and treasured good food, family cookouts, champagne, and shopping for new outfits. She also enjoyed flowers, bird watching, painting, and movies. She especially loved listening to, and singing with fervor, songs from the Great American Song Book. On numerous occasions, she was caught on video singing a Frank Sinatra or Elvis Presley tune.
Pam’s life embodied perseverance—always defying the odds and never giving up. Her good sense of humor and beautiful smile radiated warmth and love to all. “Smile though your heart is aching, smile even though it’s breaking . . . You’ll see the sun come shining through . . .”
Pam is survived by two daughters, Debra (Valeri) Hamilton and Rhonda Valeri, two grandchildren, Michael Hamilton and Kaitlyn Hamilton, one brother, Anteo Biancheria, three nieces, Christine Biancheria, Diana Biancheria, Brenda (Biancheria) Raffa, one nephew, John Biancheria, and her dear friend Ken Giglio. She is predeceased by her brother, Amilcare Biancheria, and her other nephew, Damien Biancheria.
The family has arranged for a private service and memorial gifts may be made to Abby’s House, 52 High Street, Worcester, MA. www.abbyshouse.org.

As a child, I remember Pam as being exotic and beautiful with her cat eye glasses. After that, I remember her through my parents and my cousin Debby. They always kept her memories alive. She was a very strong woman who over came many adversities and obstacles, only to come through the other side smiling….amazing! Debby and she were extremely close and I am so happy that she had that family love and support to help her through the tough times and make her life better. In the past few years, it seems she did nothing but smile. I am so happy to know she was with Deb at the end. Now you can fly with the angels! Rest easy and peacefully.

Pam and I were close friends in our early teen years. spending time together at Commerce High School, roller skating on Portland Street, hanging out with friends at Speedys Drive In on Shrewsbury Street. Our Italian families were very close and we spent many happy days just hanging out on Draper St at the Goretti’s home with family and friends. We lost contact during our late teen years, although we did get together a couple of times in our 20s. I have often thought about Pam and where her life’s direction had taken her. I am so happy to hear she moved to California and found her peaceful happy place. So many beautiful memories of a happy and easygoing friend. Love and Peace to Pam’s family. God bless you.
Sincerely

Was a Commerce High classmate. Have always remembered her joyfulness, her sparkle. Sadly, I remember the tough times, very tough times. I would cry when I saw her but always prayed for her. Likely, she did not know me (huge class) as she was very popular. Seeing her obituary brings happiness as it seems she found happiness. Peace to Pam and her family.
