Norman L. Janik, 56

Norman L. Janik, 56, of New Providence, PA died Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at home after an illness.

Norman was born in Omaha Nebraska and was the son of Raymond Janik and the late Patricia (Jones) Janik. He was the fiancé of Belinda Querry Rankin of New Providence.

Norman was employed by Kelloggs for over 35 years as a business manager. He was an active member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church where he was the past President of CYO, chosen 1991 father of the year, past vice-president of the parish council, RCIA director at church and was the basketball and softball coach for the girls teams.

Norman was a 1969 graduate of Arch Bishop Ryan High School of Omaha and attended Eastern College. During the Vietnam War he served in the US Navy as a seaman. He was a huge fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Norman loved his 6 dogs.

Surviving are 3 daughters: Danyelle Curtis, wife of Robert; Vanessa Cornelius, wife of Tom, both of Shillington PA; and Elizabeth Landis, wife of Christopher of Lancaster, PA; nine grandchildren: Morgan, Haydn, Chase, and Gwendolyn Curtis, Chloe Janik Cornelius, Olivia Williams, Sophia and Bobby Cornelius and Avery Landis; two future stepsons: David and Justin Pugh; two sisters and one brother.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. The Christian Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. at St Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA. There will be a second viewing at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held in Omaha, NE.

Memorial contributions in Norman’s memory may be sent to American Cancer Society, Lancaster Relay for Life, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603 or to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 55 S. Progress Ave., Harrisburg, PA 17109.
