Norma Sue Lefever, 79
January 20, 2025
Norma Sue Lefever, 79, of Lititz, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025, at St. Anne’s Retirement Community. Born in Nottingham, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Mae Hart Gambill. She was the loving wife of Richard A. Lefever who died in 2005.
She was a 1963 graduate of Solanco High School and later went to Emile’s Hairdressing Academy, and took her talents to The Pink Ice. After beautician school she began working at RCA where she met her husband. After several years, she began working at The Tin Bin which sparked her interest in opening her own craft store. Norma used her creative spirit and hardworking determination and in 1996 she opened the doors to Sue’s Back Porch, in Lititz, where she operated for 16 years. Norma enjoyed spending time in her garden and took great pride in her yard work. She took her beautiful creations to many craft shows over the years where her work still lives on in the homes of others.
Surviving is a son, Ryan Lefever husband of Kimberly Dirks. Norma is also survived by two brothers, Dick and Charles Gambill.
At Norma’s request there will be no services. Those desiring may send contributions in Norma’s memory to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125 or to The Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.

Ryan and Kim,
My deepest sympathy in your loss of your Mom, SUE. SUE was a fun lady and I must share one of our trips to our beach house in O.C. Sue was driving her BMW convertible this trip. As we were leaving to travel home, SUE noticed a “BERT” life size poster in our neighbor’s trash. SUE said “I need “Bert”! So she placed him in her top down car facing the rear. SUE was so proud of her idea! The entire trip home, those following or passing us would blow there horns and wave and she waved back. SUE was in her glory, this was SUE! A very lifted lady that loved to have fun has left us way to soon and will be missed! All of us need to hang on to such memorable memories in her honor! Sib Crawford
