Norma J. (Bowman) Worthing, 92, died at 7:45 AM on October 14, 2016 in Lebanon, Oregon. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Roy A. and Anna (Heilman) Bowman.

She was the wife of the late Lee O. (Mike) Worthing, who died August 9, 2009. They were married Nov. 10, 1944.

A graduate of J.P. McCaskey H.S., class of 1942 she became secretary/ bookkeeper for the former Eshelman Supply Co. in Lancaster, and later was an elementary school secretary for school districts in New Jersey and Arizona.

She was a member of the General Federation of Woman’s club in PA and NJ for many years. She was a member of St. Lukes UCC in Lancaster. She was very active in her church and also a volunteer at Lancaster General Hospital.

Norma is survived by a son, Michael Worthing, husband of Maxine Phair-Worthing of Brownsville Oregon; a grandson, Avery Worthing-Jones, husband of Jamie of Oakland CA; a great-grandson, Christopher Worthing-Jones; two nieces and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband Lee O. (Mike) Worthing, daughter Barbara Worthing-Jones, and sisters Janet Trimble and Gloria Shultz.
