Nina Louise Davis Jasmann, 88
May 02, 2025
Nina Louise Davis Jasmann of Lancaster, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, at Willow Valley Communities, she was 88 years old. She has gone home to be with Our Lord and is reunited with her beloved parents and seven of her 8 siblings. Surely hosting a grand reunion in Heaven, likely dressed for the occasion. She is survived by her dear sister, Dorothy Davis who shares Nina’s grace, wit and strong southern spirit.
Born in 1936 in Columbus, Georgia, Nina grew up in a close-knit family and graduated from Baker High School in 1954. She began her career as a secretary for New York Life Insurance before becoming a Flight Attendant for Eastern Airlines in Miami. In 1960, she moved to Denver for new professional opportunities with Chevron Oil and United Airlines, where she met Dwight on a blind date, kicking off 63 beautiful years of marriage.
Their journey took them across the globe, with stops in Chicago, Ohio, New Jersey, Hong Kong (for 5 years), Florida, San Francisco, Virginia and finally Lancaster, PA. While living in Hong Kong, Nina played a vital social role in Dwight’s work with AT&T, helping build connections throughout Asia with poise, laughter, and a wardrobe that could rival any fashion magazine. Later, she served as a consultant for a design firm, bringing elegance and modern flair to corporate spaces in one of the world’s busiest cities.
After retirement, Nina found great fulfillment serving as one of the inaugural docents at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Virginia, a role she held with pride and dedication for 15 years.
Of all her titles-flight attendant, decorator, consultant, docent and social diplomat, Nina wore “Mom” and “Shaba” best. She was a dedicated stay-at-home mother to her sons, Brock (wife Cheryl), and Jeffrey (wife Kristin), and actively involved in the lives of her grandchildren – Cassidy, Ryan, Brittany, Brock and Mitchell, and her great-grandchildren – Evelyn, Bryson, Eloise and Abigail. She offered them not just love and guidance, but a sparkle of glamour and plenty of good stories.
To know Nina was to be welcomed and complimented. Her warmth, humor, smile and effortless style will be missed by all who were lucky to know her.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at the United Church of Christ in Willow Street, PA at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025. A reception will immediately follow the service at Chautauqua Hall at the Willow Valley Communities. Please join us to share memories, laughter and perhaps a little sparkle-just as she would have wanted.
In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to one of the following: Foundation for the Memory Center at Willow Valley Communities, Willow Street. PA; Caring Hospice of Lancaster, PA or The National Museum of the Marine Corps Foundation in Quantico, VA

Our deepest sympathy to you Dwight and your family. Needless to say, the memories will last a lifetime for our time in Hong Kong, you and Nina were family for us there. In Hong Kong, Nina and I had fun, whether it was taking visitors on shopping tours, dinners or our local AWA events which included being in a “Fashion Show” for American Womens Association. The travels to Thailand, Switzerland, Singapore were special; but I remember the most, the laughs we had; hers was a special one for sure! When we left HK and went to Miami she was kind enough to come and help me decorate our new home, with a new puppy she just loved.
Enough; we will be there; you Dwight, was the one who held us all together and I know your beautiful Nina, is with the Lord; she was the best . Fondly, Margaret & Jim, Gretchen, Courtney and Kathleen

My deepest sympathies to you, Dwight, and your entire family. Nina was an amazing woman and you were a devoted husband to her. I know it’s been a long road the last few years. You accepted the challenges with such grace and love. You, too, are an amazing gentleman. Blessings as you continue to walk on your journey.

We were neighbors of Dwight & Nina in San Francisco. They were the first people to baby sit our son while we nervously went down the street for dinner. They were incredible. Nina was always impeccably dressed. The most beautiful stylish woman I have ever known. And she had a delicious laugh!! A truly special person.

I first met Nina when Dwight asked her to join us for dinner at the splendid Hyatt Regency O’Hare in May, 1965. This was in the final hours of a recruiting visit with AT&T in Chicago. She was spectacular in presence and warmth of personality. Nina had a way of always focusing on you and never her. Her participation in that dinner had no small effect on my ultimately choosing to join AT&T.
Subsequently, we lived in the same neighborhood as the Jasminns in suburban Chicago and again in neighboring communities in suburban New Jersey. Our last time being with Nina and Dwight was in October, 2011, following each of our retirements. They shared our pride in a new home we were building in South Carolina. We had the unbelievable good fortune of a life long relationship with Nina and Dwight, literally from college graduate school to and beyond retirement. How Blessed we were to have this uniquely extended relationship with two such incredible people. Dear Nina is now most deservedly with our Father in Heaven, where she so very much belongs. May we all once again renew our lifelong friendship at an appropriate time in that Heavenly hereafter.
