Nathan Levitan, Jr., 85

Nathan Levitan, Jr., 85, (known as ‘Tommy’ by close family) of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021.
He was the husband of the late Mary L. Darlington Levitan and the late T. Shirley Kauffman Levitan. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Nathan Sr. and Anna M. Smith Levitan.
Nate had been a long-time salesperson at Larry Murphy and Faulkner Chevrolet, spanning a career of 45 years. He was a very talented salesperson, who worked hard to take care of his family.
He was a US Marine Corps veteran, serving during the Korean War as a PFC.
Nate enjoyed games of chance and going to the races. He also enjoyed going with his family on yearly vacations to Wildwood, NJ.
He is survived by his sons: Daniel married to Colleen M. of Marietta, and Nathan Levitan III of Manheim; his 7 grandchildren John, Rebecca, Brittney, Rachael, Emma, Samantha, and Christopher; his 7 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; his brother Gerald and his sister Kitty. He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas, his daughter Sarah Levitan Spencer, his brother Ronald and his sister, Shirley Roseman.
Friends will be received by his family from 10-11AM at the Charles F. Snyder Jr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA on Friday, September 24, 2021, with the Funeral Service to follow at 11AM. Interment in Neffsville Brethren Cemetery. Please make contributions in Nathan’s memory to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125 or to Congregation Shaarai Shomayim, 75 E. James St., Lancaster, PA 17602.

My condolences to Nate’s family. He was a brother-in-law to me when I was married to his step sister, Jackie. We became friends in the 70’s and he sold us our first used car. Semper Fi’ to a brother Marine!

My condolences to the Levitan family. We bought a car in the 90’s and Nate always called on the holidays even decades later. Wonderful man. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear about Nates passing. He was friend of my dads since I was a little girl. He sold me my first car. Him and my dad use to talk cars all the time and they did a lot of buy and sell to each other. So many memories of then.
