Nancy Jo Forberger, 59

Nancy Jo Forberger, 59, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017. Born in Easton, PA, she was the daughter of the late J. Bernice (Roth) and Joseph Barr. She was the loving wife of Doug Forberger with whom she shared over 6 years of marriage.
She graduated from Millersville State College in 1979 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. Teaching remained her passion throughout her life. She taught kindergarten at Kinder-Haus in New Holland for over 30 years.
Nancy enjoyed being outdoors: boating, fishing, and hiking. But mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family and adored her cats, Allie, Brandi, Maizy and Sasha. Nancy was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster where she served as a Deacon.
In addition to her husband Douglas, she is survived by her brother, George Barr husband of Barbara of New Tripoli; niece, Tara Barr fiancé of Joseph of East Hartford, CT.
A Celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at 11AM on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church, 140 E. Orange St, Lancaster, PA 17602 with Rev. Dan Snyder officiating. Interment will be private at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends will be received from 10-11AM at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nancy’s memory may be made to KPets, 2120 Oregon Pike 2nd Floor, Lancaster, PA 17601 or to Hershey Medical Cancer Research, 500 University Dr, Hershey, PA 17033.

Doug, I am fortunate to have worked with Nancy at Kinder-Haus from 1998-2012. She was an outstanding teacher who taught children to respect themselves and others. As a co-worker, she set an example for countless teachers to follow. She will be missed. ~Kim Weller
