Nancy D. Geiger, 85

Nancy D. Geiger, 85, of Homestead Village, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015. Nancy was born in Reading, PA and was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Ida (Gundrum) Davis who was lovingly known as Gammie.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Richard T. Geiger on July 19, 1999.
She graduated from Kutztown University in 1951 with a BA in Elementary Education. She kept a strong bond with her college roommates until they could no long meet anymore.
She was an elementary teacher from 1966-1988 with the Manheim Township School District.
Nancy volunteered at Homestead Village and at Church of the Apostles for the past fifteen years.
She enjoyed playing Bridge, getting together with friends, enjoyed time with her family, and shopping with her granddaughters. She was very proud of her grandchildren and loved watching them become young adults.
She is survived by four children, three daughters; Cindy L. wife of David F. Destafano, of Conestoga, Pamela S. wife of Gregory C. Roof, of Olney, MD, Melissa A. wife of Dr. Paul D. Dalbey, of Mechanicsburg, a son Thomas C. Geiger, husband of Patricia A., of Boiling Springs, eleven grandchildren and a great grandson.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 11AM at Church of the Apostles 1850 Marietta Ave. Lancaster, PA 17603 with The Rev. Kathryn Kuhn officiating. A closed casket visitation will be at the church from 10:30-11AM. Interment will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Reading, PA. Memorial contributions in Nancy’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society Lancaster Chapter 314 Good Drive Lancaster, PA 17603
