Nancy A. (Dersh) Patton, 88
Nancy A. (Dersh) Patton, 88, of Ephrata, PA, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and active member of her community. Born in Pottstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mae (Simmons) and Leonard Dersh. She was married to the late William H. Patton, with whom she shared over 64 years of marriage.
Nancy enjoyed a variety of activities, but none more than bringing her family together. Holidays, picnics, birthdays, or sporting events; she never wasted any opportunity to gather her family and friends. Trips to the beach in the summertime or Autumn afternoons cheering on her great grandchildren from the sidelines; Nancy was an ever-present support to those she loved. Her kindness and warmth made her friends quickly, and she kept those friends for life.
Crafty and creative, Nancy was highly active in her community, dedicating her time as a volunteer in various organizations. She played pivotal roles in the Girl Scouts, Parent-Teacher Organizations (PTO), and contributed to local hospitals, showcasing her passion for service.
Nancy is survived by her son, Kevin L. Patton of Ephrata, and her grandchildren: Natalie Mellinger (Josiah Mellinger) of Lancaster, Christopher Simmons of Ephrata, Daniel Patton (Keisha McCauley) of Manheim, David Patton (Jessica Patton) of Manheim, and Emily Foltz (Ryan Foltz) of Ephrata. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren: Avery Fisher, Isabella Foltz, William Foltz, Bodie Mellinger, Tallulah Patton, and Kaylee Patton.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Suzon Simmons, and her brother, Harry Dersh.
Interment will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
