Michael L. Jackson, 77

Michael L. Jackson, 77, of Mountville, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Richard and Willetta (Foster) Jackson. Michael was the beloved husband of Isabelle E. (Green) Jackson, and together they shared 53 years of marriage.
Michael graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School. He entered the U S Air Force in 1961, and was honorably discharge in October, 1981, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant, and receiving many awards and medals. During his military career he attended college and received his Master’s Degree from the University of Albuquerque, NM. Following his discharge from the military, Michael worked as a substitute teacher at Eldorado High School. He later worked for Yellow Freight as a dockworker and drove for the Manheim Auto Auction.
Michael enjoyed deep sea fishing trips to Indian River and camping. He and his wife traveled extensively both cross country and overseas. He was an avid reader, always completed the newspaper puzzles, and was a great Sudoku solver. He loved watching Jeopardy and always knew the answers. He was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. Michael was a loving husband and father, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren
In addition to his wife Isabelle, Michael is survived by his children, David Jackson and his wife Jennifer of Harrisburg, Sherry Thomas of Mountville, and Ashton Jackson of Mountville. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Aliesa, Nicole, Colby, Christina, Christopher, Kayla and Aleyah; greatgrandchildren, Amhar, Logan and Kayden; and sisters, Barbara, Marian and Carol. His brother Joseph Eugene Jackson preceded him in death.
Funeral services will take place 11 AM Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA, 17543, where a viewing will be held from 10-11 AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
