Michael D. “Mike” Doan

February 23, 2016

Mike was reunited with his daughter Traci “Dinker” on February 23, 2016 following a long battle of heart disease. Born in Lancaster, Mike was the son of the late Stanley R. and Marion (Stover) Doan. He was the husband of Linda Willis Doan and the father of Robyn Michelle Doan Rissinger wife of Troy R. Rissinger and his 3 grandchildren Matthew Troy, Emma Michelle, and Isaac Michael Rissinger all of Rothsville.
He is also survived by 2 sisters, Sandy Robertson, Wanda Summers and his brother, Steve Doan.
Mike was a member of Insulators Local No. 23 of Harrisburg.
Mike proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1968 with a tour of Vietnam. Also while in the Navy he met his best friend “Red”, with this friendship he enjoyed many fishing and hunting trips over the years.
Mike enjoyed horse racing and traveling to different casinos throughout the United States with his wife Linda, but most of all his favorite thing was watching and proudly supporting his grandchildren in high school football, high school and college field hockey and high school track and field.
A Viewing will be held from 9:30-11AM followed by a service celebrating Mike’s Life on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Charles F. Condolences to the Family

Linda, and Family, My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this most difficult time. Mike will truly be missed by many and we all have our memories to hold. Michael was the older Brother I never had, answering many questions I had growing up and taking me for rides in the Hot cars he had. For his service to our Country I also say “thank you Michael”. Love Jeff Mellinger

Linda and family – We are so sorry to learn of Mike’s passing.  We will miss seeing him drive down Hummingbird, turn right on Chickadee and make his daily jaunts to Turkey Hill.  Jim and Babs Tribble
