Michael Burton Shock, 70
July 25, 2023
Michael Burton Shock, 70, of Peach Bottom, PA, and formerly of Baltimore, MD, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late David and Minnie Shock. He was married to Margaret (Wann) Shock for over 19 years.
Mike graduated from Southern High School and immediately enlisted in the US Army. He worked in communications until being honorably discharged. Shortly after, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering. He worked in the computer industry up until his retirement in March of 2007. Outside of work, Mike loved all things technology and had every gadget possible. He also was known as a collector of Coca-Cola and much more. He enjoyed listening to old country music, playing cards, and watching war movies. Mike was also quite the storyteller and could captivate the room with stories of his past. He is affectionately remembered as someone with a rough exterior, but warm and gentle heart.
In addition to his wife Margaret, Mike is survived by his daughter Saprena Schock, and sisters Jean Rouse, Arletta Wallace (Michael), Cynthia McGuire, and Diane Dobecky. He was preceded in death by his brothers David Shock, James Shock and his sister Cecelia Shock.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Mike’s name to Wounded Warrior Project, woundedwarriorproject.org.
