Even though we had a bit of a language barrier, I will forever remember my Mother-in-Law as a person with a big heart, filled with love for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and those few of us in the extended family of significant others. Her generosity, from the hours spent knitting, resulted in two of my favorite knitted caps. Additionally, from mangoo to san cocho (pardon my translation), she passed many delicious recipes on to her children, of which I am a grateful recepient. During her many year-end visits, over the past few years, I am grateful for the opportunity to make her coffee and eggs and, occasionally, to play bingo together. God Bless this dear one and may perpetual light shine on her soul.

I have only had the pleasure of knowing and working with Jackie. My condolences to the family, and it sounds like Jackie has a lot of her mother in her. We would be so proud if any of our children turned out like her. Stu Metzler

In Loving Memory of Our Beloved Matriarch
She was the quiet strength behind generations,
A gentle light whose presence warmed our roots.
From her hands came wisdom,
From her heart — resilience,
And from her spirit,
The thread that wove our family whole.
Though distance and time may have scattered us,
Her memory gathers us once more —
In stories, in laughter,
In tears that fall like sacred rain.
She lived nearly a century,
Ninety-six years kissed by the sun and shadow.
She weathered storms, carried burdens,
And still offered grace like a prayer whispered before sleep.
To some, she was Mother.
To others, Grandmother.
To all of us, she was a blessing —
Our elder tree, whose roots reach deep into who we are.
Now, she rests.
Peacefully. Eternally.
Carried on the wings of all our love.
We will carry her with us —
In the ways we speak, the recipes we pass on,
In the quiet moments when we feel her near.
Let her life remind us of the strength of family,
The gift of legacy,
And the power of a love that never dies.
With hearts united,
— Helen Concepcion Escoto
