Melissa A. Rice, 45

December 18, 2019

Melissa A. Rice, 45, of Lititz, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of John W. and Cheryl L. (Womer) Rice.

Melissa graduated from Warwick High School in 1992. She attended Lancaster Career & Technology Center in Willow Street and St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, in Lancaster. She worked as a traveling nurse at the Lancaster General Hospital, Mennonite Home Communities, Luther Care, and Pleasant View Retirement Community.

Melissa walked with the Marching Band and was in the Band Front at Warwick High School. She was a cheerleader for Midget Football, played in the girls’ softball league, was a sharpshooter in rifle and pistol and enjoyed shooting Archery. Melissa was a loving, caring, young lady who always helped others, including those young ladies who were homeless, abused or had illnesses; quite often she would bring them to her home and help them get back on their feet by letting them live with her. Melissa put 110% of her heart into everything she ever did.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family.
