Matthew Michael Schreck, age 46, a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend passed away too soon on June 5, 2025. Born in Meadville, Pennsylvania, he was the beloved son of Michael and Susan (Garfield) Schreck.
Matthew was a proud graduate of the Saegertown Junior-Senior High School class of 1996. After high school, he had a career as a CNC Machinist in the steel industry, demonstrating skill in his work.
Beyond his profession, Matthew enjoyed playing guitar and found solace and joy in music. He was also an avid video game enthusiast as well as a true fan of science fiction, in which he loved watching Star Trek.
Above all, Matthew was a caring individual who consistently sought to help others around him. He took great pride in his family, always prioritizing the well-being of his parents, sister, and his cherished niece and nephew. His unwavering support and love for them were evident to all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Michael and Susan of Meadville, Matthew is survived by his sister, Mandy Harmon (wife of Drew) of Lancaster, his nephew Gage Harmon of Lancaster, and his niece Abbie Reyes (wife of Elijah) of Eagle Pass, Texas.
Matthew is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Bill and Ardis Schreck, his maternal grandparents George and Deed Garfield, his niece Mary Harmon and his beloved cat, Jake.
Matthew’s kind spirit and compassionate nature will leave an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered not only for his talents and interests but also for his genuine heart and dedication to his loved ones. As we say goodbye to Matthew, we hold on to the memories that make him forever a part of our lives. May his spirit find peace, and may we find comfort in the love and joy he brought to our lives.
