Maryam “Jeannie” Wentz
June 7, 1946 - July 11, 2017
Maryam “Jeannie” Brylke Wentz went to be with her Lord on Tuesday July 11, 2017 after a long, but courageous battle with leukemia at her home in Lancaster, PA.
Jeannie was born June 7, 1946 in Hagerstown MD. She grew up in Hanover, PA and was a 1964 graduate of Delone Catholic High School. Jeannie held various positions in the transportation industry during her working life including working for Yellow Freight, New Penn, and Pitt Ohio. Attending Catholic schools as a young person taught Jeannie to be compassionate for those in need which extended into her adult life where she enjoyed participating as a member of the local Lions Club in Lancaster, PA.
Loved ones who cleared the path for Jeannie are her father Robert J. Brylke, her beloved mother Eulaliah “Lee” Brylke, and her younger sister Barbara Jo Weigard. Loved ones who will miss Jeannie until they meet again are her husband of forty-three years Nevin “Butch” Wentz, her son and daughter in-law Ian and Traci Swisher, her son and daughter in-law Matthew and Diana Wentz, and her son Marcus Swisher. One of the greatest joys of her life was being a Grandmother or “Mee-Maw” to her eight Grandchildren Dylan Swisher, Jared Swisher, Adison Swisher, Mariah Swisher, Morgan Wentz, Sophia Lee Wentz, Molly Jo Wentz, and Henry Wentz. Jeannie is also survived by her older brother and sister Robert Riddle and Carol Damewood as well as family members and friends who will cherish their time spent with her.
Jeannie was happiest surrounded by family, friends, and especially her best childhood girlfriends some of whom were waiting to welcome her to her eternal home and some who will keep her memory alive with stories of their time spent together. Jeannie is remembered for her beautiful smile, her vivacious spirit, and her never ending love of her family and friends.
A service celebrating the life of Jeannie will be held on Saturday July 22, 2017 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 at 11AM. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 10-11AM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Jeannie may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/ by phone at 800-805-5856 or by mail at 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

I used this quote for my sister, Yvonne. It is fitting for Jeannie, who was her dear friend. Happy for them to be reunited in Heaven. judy bennett sieg

Thank you for sharing Jeannie with us. I loved her so much. She was very kind, loving, caring person and so very full of life. It was always fun to see her at Sarah and Todd’s for Christmas. Enjoyed our Jamaica trip with Butch and Jeannie too. She will be missed and know she is loved.

To all of the Wentz family, thank you for sharing Aunt Jeannie with us. She had an infectious spirit that We’ll never forget and left us only wanting more. We had so much fun with her in a Jamaica. She was so easy to love. Hugs to all of you and we will keep you in our prayers.

Jeannie was such a loving and kind person. She was so strong and so brave and through it all her worries were for the ones she would leave behind. She is without pain and worry now, but instead can watch over all of us from above. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family through this time.

I did not know Jeannie as well as I would have liked, but what I came away with after spending time with her was her unwavering courgage, kindness, and the love she had for the people she knew. It was always evident how greatly she loved her husband and family, and how she always seemed to put them first despite her battles. I will miss her, but I am glad that the good fight she fought so hard is over for her, and now she can look after the ones she loved without pain, or suffering! Ginny D
