Mary Margaret Jordano, 89

Mary Margaret Jordano, 89, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 5, 2019. Born in Lansford, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Gabol) Yesenko.

Mary was a graduate of The New York Institute of Dietetics where she received her bachelors of Science in Nutrition. Mary had worked as a dietician for RCA in Lancaster, before becoming a homemaker.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, interior decorating, and gardening. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Mary was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for 50 years.

Mary is survived by her son, Frank A. Jordano, husband of Michelle Lee, of Alexandria, VA; her daughter, Mary Ann Jordano, of Lancaster; her son, James J. Jordano, husband of Jennifer, of Omaha, NE; and four grandchildren; Julia Marie Jordano, or Manassas, VA, Frank Anthony Jordano, of Fairbanks, AK, Jeffrey James Jordano, of Pittsburgh, and Jessica Anne Jordano, of Omaha, NE. She was preceded in death by her 2 sisters, and loving husband Frank Jordano, formerly of Pittsburgh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 119 S Prince St, Lancaster, PA 17603. She will be interred with her husband in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Mary’s memory be made to The Monastery of the Perpetual Rosary, 1834 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.

    I am deeply saddened to read Mary Margaret’s obit. I cannot tell you what a precious and dear lady she was to me and my Amish ladies. She will be greatly missed. On behalf of all of us, I offer sincerest sympathy to you. May love surround you, may faith sustain you and hope encourage you in the days ahead.
